PROHIBITED ITEMS
The following items are prohibited from inclusion in all unaccompanied baggage (regardless of which service used)
- Ammunition (all kinds) and explosives (including fireworks and toy caps).
- Currency or currency instruments, including counterfeit money.
- Cigarettes, tobacco or tobacco products.
- Dangerous or controlled drugs.
- Firearms, including antique weapons, sporting and air rifles, air pistols and similar weapons.
- Furniture when unaccompanied baggage is moved by air.
- Pianos, antiques and valuable paintings.
- Inflammable materials e.g. paints, dyes, matches, solid fuel, fireworks, methylated spirits.
- Motor vehicle, motorcycles and mopeds (including parts or assemblies) “sit on” motor mowers. Internal combustion engines or any part thereof, other than those of go-karts, small outboard motors or conventional motor mowers.
- Perishable foodstuffs, including frozen items.
- Tea, cocoa, coffee or pure soluble coffee or mixed extracts (to and from Germany only)
- Wine, spirits, beer or other alcoholic drinks.
- Bulbs, plants and parts thereof, including trees, certain logs and timber, shrubs, fruit, raw vegetables, potatoes, lettuce seeds, tomato seeds and peas for sowing.
- Any item which, if it escapes or leaks from its container, could contaminate your own or other baggage.
- Compressed gas and aerosol containers of all types, including gas table lighters, sub aqua charged compressed air bottles, gas bottles, and company gas cookers/stoves, hairsprays etc.
- Corrosive substances, articles containing mercury such as barometers and thermometers, acids, alkalis, wet cell batteries and skis with mercury tips.
- Heavily magnetised articles.
- Offensive or irritating materials
- Oxidising material, e.g. bleaching agents, peroxides and potassium chlorate.
- Radio transmitters including walkie-talkies, microphones, micro bugs and mobile telephones not approved for use at destination. Other portable or electronic equipment including transmitter radios, TV sets, torches and alarm clocks (unless power packs and/or batteries have been removed). High intensity diving lamps.
- Poisonous substances.
- Indecent or obscene books, magazines, films, videotapes, computer discs or any other indecent or obscene articles.
- Items derived from rare or endangered species including certain furs, ivory, reptile, leather or articles made from them.
- Animals and birds whether alive or dead (e.g. stuffed)
- Boats, canoes, windsurfers, trailers, horse drawn carriages, camping trailers, caravans, garden benches, garden sheds (collapsed or not) rigid swimming pools, green houses.
- Wood shavings (unless specifically used as packing materials) fodder (including hay and straw)
